Meet Duncan...

This week we welcomed a 3 month old, 1.5 pound puppy chihuahua to the family! His name is Duncan and he is so much fun. For those of you that remember Randal, we loved him dearly. But he became a little jealous and out of control after we had Landon. He was a really hyper dog and needed lots of attention, which was fine until we had a new baby and Landon became our attention. Eventually we had to give in and we gave him to a good family about a year and half ago, but we have never stopped wanting a dog. Now that Landon is older and loves dogs, we decided to give it another try with a young dog, who will be raised around kids and never know the difference of being "the baby"and having it's roll filled by a really baby. To be honest, on the drive home after getting him, anxiety set in because let's face it, I will be the one home with him all the time. And right now, Landon is full force in his "terrible two's" and alone is hard to deal with some days. But Chris gave me his solemn promise that anytime he is home the dog will be his responsibility, and he will take him out every morning before he leaves for school and work, and will be "extra nice" and help out as much as he can. Well I'm holding him to it! But so far, Duncan has been amazingly mellow and loving, and is learning really fast. He hasn't had any accidents in the house and is really just happy to be around people. We haven't heard his bark yet, and I'm really hoping to keep it that way. For the most part he really just loves having something to cuddle up to, and is happy to just follow us around all day. He is so sweet and cuddly and we just love having in our little family!

This is his preferred sleeping situation if we aren't next to him on the couch.

A Day Out With Thomas...

As promised, here are some pictures from our day in Heber riding Thomas the Tank Engine. We had a really fun time! The weather was perfect and since we went on a weekday it wasn't overly crowded. The only trouble Landon had was every time Thomas would leave to take all the passengers for a ride, he had a hard time understanding that he would be back and then he could stand next to him again. Other than that, it was really fun and I think Landon could have spent the entire day there if we would let him!
We took like three hundred pictures, but here are just some of the fun ones...

Long past due...

I am letting way too much time pass between posts. I always have so much to say at the times when I can't get one the computer to say it. I sometimes lie in bed at night thinking of all the things I need to post about, and actually consider getting out of bed to do it. But from past experiences know that only makes falling asleep even harder than it already is. I feel so busy now that summer is here, though I am not exactly sure what is tying up my schedule more than usual. Maybe it's all the time spent outside with Landon. Another problem is that some of our pictures end up on the laptop and others on our office computer, so I will find myself intending to post but I will be on the opposite computer than the pictures I want to write about. (not sure why I feel I can't post without a picture!) Either way, here is my ditch effort to update on all the many events going on with the Rollers as of late.

First and foremost - Chris has finished his first year of Pharmacy school. Yay! One down. Only two more to go. I keep reminding myself that it will go by quickly, but this year really didn't seem to go by all that fast. However, I do feel that we have settled into a schedule of some sort and have finally adjusted to the little amount of time we get to spend as a family. The one good thing to come of that is really looking forward the time we do have together. I think that Chris has pretty much accepted that hours and hours of studying is just going to be a big part of his life for the next few years, and I have accepted that even though some days I feel like a single Mom, it's a sacrifice that will be worthwhile in the future. Man, I never realized how easy I had it before!

The week that Chris took his last test of the year was jam packed full of studying. But the day after he finished we headed up to Heber with Landon for "A Day Out With Thomas." The following day we hit the road to Vegas with two of Chris' buddies from school and their wives. I am on the wrong computer so - pictures to come!

2 year appointment and sad news...

Landon had his two year appointment a couple of weeks ago and he is healthy and growing and looking great! He is talking, counting, naming shapes and colors and running all over the place. However, we also found out that he might need surgery and were sent to see a specialist to make sure. For Landon's sake in years to come, I won't go into much detail. He has what is called Penile Torsion and will be having surgery on June 17th to correct it. It's scary to think of him being put under for the operation and I'm sad that our little man will go through a painful recovery. Even though we are pretty nervous about the rare complications that are associated with any surgery, it's reassuring to know that he will be under the care of the doctors and nurses at Primary Children's and couldn't be in better hands.

We will keep everyone updated the day of the surgery and let you know how everything goes!

Four down, many more to come...

March 12th was our 4 year anniversary. We spent most of the day downtown eating and shopping, and mainly talking about how once Chris is done with school we are going to take some sweet vacations for our future anniversaries. But it was great just to spend some quality time together, since that rarely happens anymore. Only two more years, people! No, I am not referring to the number of years left in our marriage. Only two more years left of Pharmacy school. Now that's going to be a celebration! So be sure to watch for our 6 YEAR anniversary post where we will be jumping up and down with the excitement of Chris's graduation.
Love you, Chris Roller!

Happy Birthday, baby boy!

On March 9th our little Landon turned 2! Oh, how the time flies. This kid is a crack up and has more energy and spunk than ever. He spent the day playing with cousins and running all over the place with new toys, and was pretty worn out by the end of the day.

Thanks to my Mom and Chelsea for helping me make Landon's cute cake! Okay, let's be honest. They did pretty much the whole thing.

A big THANK YOU to all of our family that came to celebrate with Landon. We love you!

Happy Birthday, Landon! We love you and can't get enough of your fun personality.

And finally, the moment I have been dreading for the last two years...

Potty Training. Wish us luck! We're going to need it.

Choo Choo!

Landon is obsessed with trains. OBSESSED. He absolutely loves them. He has one in his hand at almost all times, and he takes one to bed with him every night. He also likes to play with cars, however, he takes all of his cars and trucks, lines them up like a train, then pushes them from the back and says, "Choo Choo!!" and various other train noises. He even puts a little person in the back of the truck like a conductor.

Being the train lover he is, naturally he adores "Thomas and Friends" and knows every character's name. So as part of his birthday we bought tickets to "A Day Out With Thomas" up in Heber. We can't wait to take him! I don't think he will be able to contain himself seeing a life size Thomas.

One whole year...

For those of you who remember this post, I would like to announce that I have officially gone without biting my nails for one solid year. That's right. I kicked that habit, and I kicked it good! Not sure why I was able to do it this time when I have tried to quit so many times before. Was a "New Year's resolution" really all I needed? I'm not sure, but today I went out and bought myself an array of nail polish to celebrate. So if next time you see me I have florescent orange nails, you will know why.
